Documents to be submitted as per the UGC guidelines

Checklist for Registration Formalities at FRRO/FRO

1) Soon after receiving the Admission Letter/Visa Letter from the university, any foreign student/scholar has to apply for a Student Visa at the relevant Indian Embassy/High Commission. In general, the issuance of a Student Visa by the Embassy takes a time duration of 3 to 8 weeks. Hence, the application for the visa must be made well in advance to attend punctually the commencement of the concerned course at Starex University.
2) Thereafter, comes the requirement of getting registered with the Foreigner's Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the university within 14 days of the student's arrival in India.     Persons holding multiple entry visas are required to register with the FRO/FRRO within 14 days of the first arrival if they intend to stay continuously for more than 180 days.   4. Is it mandatory to attend the orientation program for an international student?
    Of course! We aim at extending a warm welcome to our international students. So, at IFC’s orientation session, you will receive heartening greetings by staff and the other students and furnished accommodating information about settling in the Starex campus.
  5. To whom should the parents contact regarding their concerns related to their wards’ scrutiny or living arrangements?
    Such concerns could be shared with the representative of the IFC coordinators.
  6. What advantages will a PIO (Person of Indian Origin) Cardholder have?
    The PIO cardholders can get the following benefits:
    • PIO cardholder will get lifetime validity from the date of its issue (applicant must have a valid passport)
    • PIO cardholders are not required to undergo the FRRO/FRO registration process.
    • There is no requirement for a student visa/work permit for a PIO cardholder to undertake studies/employment in India

  7. Can a close friend of one of the parents or any relative residing in the same city (of university) be a student’s local guardian (in case the parents could not join)?
    Yes, that person can be a local guardian to the student. Similarly, a student’s grandparent, uncle, aunt, sibling, nephew or niece can also act as local guardians. In case, a sibling/nephew/niece is being your local guardian, then he/she
    • Must be above 21 years of age
    • Should possess a moral character
