  •  Introduction

I am a Lecturer and Senior Librarian in the Department of Library & Information Science at Starex University, and I am pleased to share that my paper, "New Components of Library Administration in the Digital Era," has been published by the K.R. CAMA Oriental Institute, Mumbai.

The aim of publishing this paper is to highlight the evolving role of Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals in the digital age. The paper addresses key objectives, including:

    1. Bridging the Digital Divide: Raising awareness of the growing disparity between information-rich and information-poor libraries, and encouraging libraries to embrace new technologies to ensure equitable access to information for all users.
    2. Highlighting the Role of LIS Professionals: Positioning LIS professionals as navigators, consultants, and facilitators who guide users through the complex, often overwhelming digital information landscape.
    3. Advocating Technological Literacy: Emphasizing the need for LIS professionals to stay informed about emerging technologies so they can effectively evaluate and implement systems and tools that best meet user needs.
    4. Encouraging Digitization and Electronic Library Services: Advocating for the digitization of library services and materials to meet the increasing demand for remote and non-local access, while ensuring that traditional physical collections are preserved and integrated.
    5. Promoting the Future of Library Services: Preparing libraries and librarians for the future by integrating digital information services and ensuring they remain relevant and efficient in the rapidly evolving digital environment.
